Apple have named Flipboard an App of the year on the itunes website and it has been featured in TIME’s 50 innovations of 2010. This is big news for the new startup and they can expect to see downloads rocket with such a big name backing them.
The app for the ipad turns your internet browsing into a magazine style approach. Utilising your RSS feed, social media and flickr sites into a fun and easy to read format. But Flipboard doesn’t just sort through content users use most regularly, it also helps them discover great new sources of information.
Evan Doll the co-founder of Flipboard wants the app to be “the one place you can go to get your social content fix altogether.” With magazines and other publications likely to partner up with Flipboard this could save on having multiple apps and combine everything you need in to one neat place.
You can download the app for free from here.
