Friday Favourites

Welcome to our second installment of our new weekly feature ‘Friday Favourites’, we hope you like!

1. Dribbble

To put it simply dribbble is “a show and tell for designers”. I stumbled across this website whilst looking for inspiration on the web. The concept is what stood out most, in that it targets creatives to interact with each other. This is done by sharing sneak peaks of your work, known as ‘Shots’ in the dribbble lingo. It adds intrigue to the viewers of your snapshot and they can get in touch, ask questions or ‘rebound’ it (pass on to others).

2. A Modern Eden

A wonderfully design conscious website dedicated to bringing helpful products to parents and children. Some of their offerings include educational iphone apps which help the very young to speak there first words and develop their memory of the alphabet. Not only are these products functional and useful but they have taken into account the design and form of the product as well. With beautiful illustrations and a playful colour palette, these are a must for any design savvy parent!

3. 960 Grid System

This site has been very useful to us and will be useful to anyone interested in designing a website professionally. The 960 Grid System is there to help streamline web design and development by providing commonly used dimensions. These are based on a width of 960 pixels. There are two grids: 12 and 16 columns, which can be used separately or together and are free to download from the 960 website. You can also see examples of how the grid aligns with existing websites to help get a better understanding of the grid.
